In 2014 Boyd was diagnosed with “ghost foot.” Not an actual medical term, it aptly describes his general lack of sensation in one of his feet, although I forget which one. During his recovery from gruesome back surgery to alleviate things, Boyd vowed to finally get around to recording some songs he’d written. Enlisting the help of his brother Grant, he recorded a catchy little number, which led to another song and then another. Before you know it (and by that I mean more than a year later) the two had recorded an entire album’s worth of songs. They decided to release the album and needed a name for the project – and I say project because “band” may be much too strong a word here. “Ghost Foot” was already taken by some hicks. So they landed on their second choice, “Louise Louise.” There’s a great story there, too, but I’ll save that for another day.We hope you enjoy the songs.
