Influences heard of Neil Young, Tim Eriksen, Dave Eugene Edwards, Steve Earle, and life itself. Travellers around a campfire. Songs with a soul. The music moves between pop, folk, Americana and altcountry. Characteristic of the music is the harmonious vocals of singers Albert Pieter Venema and Jonne Medema. Sometimes fragile, sometimes raw, their voices take you into their stories. About how life sometimes hurts, about questions that remain unanswered, and about the delight of having companions.The term"Freeman's Pick-Up" comes from the language of 20th century vagrants in America, and is about picking up cigarette butts to put a new cigarette from it. It’s about picking up trash along the way and make something new out of it. It’s about picking up what you encounter in life, and share it in music with others. Freeman's Pick-Up makes music on the go. The debut album was released in June 2010 and is called 'Traveler'. It contains eight songs written by Albert Pieter Venema.
