Adept Records is a brand new independent record and video label whose acts and material will be of a predominantly socially conscious nature. This label, conceived and driven by singer-songwriter Alan Wauters, is promoting a kind of 21st century naturalism along the lines of Wundervogel (turn of the last century movement in Western Europe). The label's logo is Alan's great-grandmother, Josephine Wauters (15 year old actress at time of photo) Josey, it was felt (in spite of her “Top of the Titanic” outfit), represents a kind of non-cosmetic, natural beauty and innocence (not to be confused with naiveté), also portrayed to a great degree by many of those chosen for most of the videos. And as a final thought, the word “Adept” is drawn in this context, as much from the four major steps of spiritual initiation (neophyte, devotee, initiate, adept), as from the more traditional definition/concept of one who operates in the mode of perfection.
