专辑《Waking Dream》 简介
Los Angeles Morning: The idea came as i traveled across the 10 freeway very early one morning after dropping a friend off at the airport . A benediction of hope, revival and strength in L.A. A hymn to a city that rarely gets a wrap. There’s a great deal of promise on the horizon,no matter arduous he road has been.Too Late To Turn Away Tonight: A circular verse progression that started life as a folk song. Harmony, rhythm and the knowledge shared between two that resistance in the face of an historic attraction is futile. Feeling a magnetic force that cannot be denied, even when we know it's wrong. All Time High: This chorus i've had for years, and it's always given me a euphoric feeling of reaching an epiphanic experience. Different: A call to arms and a simultaneously a challenge to myself. The chance to shape our world through action.3 Moments: One take, two mics in a room for the vocal and guitar. then we went to Capitol Studios and Suzie Katayama lent her brilliance as an arranger and conductor of strings to the song. It's a confessional without the guilt being laid. Mystified by lost love.Everything Takes Forever: Patience is virtue. A big 70's rock flavored anthem. No Title: Somethings cannot be categorized, merely observed, rolling by, without titles. This song was used as the theme for Sydney Theatre Company's production of The Shape of Things.Waking Dream: The ephemeral feeling of time passing. A blurred vision between reality and desire. I wrote this some years ago for a theatrical production of A Clockwork Orange.Wild in the Streets: Two minutes of rolling rhythm and melody, mixed by Josh Wermut in Sydney. Starring Andy Clockwise on drums and electric guitar.Rusty Faith: For my dad. Of love and pain, triumph and loss, anger and acceptance. Yet holding a life-affirming conclusion, and my daughter Penelope singing the coda melody. The circle is complete.
