Long before Mykal Xul developed delusions of becoming the Midwestern Quorthon (as well as severe agoraphobia it seems), he & his rotating selection of musical savants, Rex Postal on drums, Land O'Lakes on bass (later replaced by Chuck Grustavio), terrorized central Indiana with a mix of punk rock, SWANK-level humor, & a little rockabilly thrown in for good measure. The First Ten Years 2003-13 covers highlights from the Mykal Xul Project's first two demos, plus some of Mykal's home demos, as well as a live cut from MXP's final show in their hometown of Franklin, Indiana. For those of you only familiar with Xul's “Gizmo My Way” & “Johnson County Line”, this little pleasure chest serves to get you up to speed with most of Senior Xul's musical past. Influenced by GG Allin, The Mentors, & The Gizmos, Xul's pre-GMW output is undeniably more vulgar & uptempo then the patented “poontwang” sound he's mainly known for. But at the same time cuts like “Where The Boys Aren't” & “2 Miles O' Dick” point to the direction Xul would later follow.First off, we have “Oimosexual”, a wacky slam on Nazi punks. Uptempo metal, with a bridge ripped off from an Emperor song thrown in for some ungodly reason. “Do My Will Or Else!!!” keeps the thrashing going, while “My Girl's Been Circumsized (Live)” has the band (now augmented by Chuck's brother Jeremy Riff on second guitar) sending a helpless whitebread audience screaming for the exits!Laying back for a little while, Mykal performs the next two songs, “Teachers” & “Tossin' One For Anna Nicole” accompanying himself on acoustic guitar. Never let it be said Herr Xul lacked subtlety! The next three songs, “2 Miles O' Dick”, “BabyDaddy”, & “Ruthless Arrogant Bastards”, pick the party back up in full swing. A surprisingly un-explicit ode to"Sleepaway Camp"'s sweet starlet, Felissa Rose finally sees official release. Meanwhile “the aforementioned “Where The Boys Aren't” & the “Trans”-ish, “Sitting In The Asshole Chair” (with yours truly on synths) showcase our hero's surprising knack for mixing lush musical stylings with lyrical yarns that could only be conceived on a diet of lesbian porn, & various stimulants. Finally we close with “Mr Fuck”, a raucous rocker that would've had Stanley & Simmons on Mykal's nutz!Do yourself a favor & download “The First Ten Years 2003-13” & blast it during a night of sodomy with your emo girlfriend!Mykki DeSodd 2013All songs produced by Mykal XulMykal Xul Project was: Mykal Xul, Rex Postal, Landon O'Lakes, Chuck Grustavio, Jeremy Riff, Jimmy Hatt, Mykki DeSodd.Recorded at various points between 2003-2013 at the Plunder Room (Whiteland, Indiana) Star Recording (Greenwood, Indiana), The Bailey Estate (Lee City, Kentucky), & LOGO's Nightclub (Franklin, Indiana).
