This album is an offering to you , celebrating both the inner and outer journey . A meditative dance ,combining the mellow reflective sounds of the Acoustic Guitar , with the punctuation of the electric guitar, with the intention to share the experiance of walking this path in the peaceful way. I first began this journey learning the guitar in the mid 1980's inspired by such bands as Led Zeppelin, Yes, Rush , Pink Floyd, and solo artists such as Neil Young,John Lennon, Bob Dylan, and Suzanne Vega. I Started writing songs right away and playing in bands and doing solo performances early on. The 1990's for me, brought about a music revolution and introduced me to a lot of musicians trying to do the same thing I was trying to do , which was to return to the simplicity and meaningful approach to making music. It was very refreshing . After checking out of the music scene for a while, due to great obstacles,( internal and external) I moved to Albuquerqe, New Mexico in 1999 where I began to write again as well as perform. In the last 12 years or so, I have not only been introduced to the many great changes that occur in ones life ,but have also had the opportunity to see the results of hanging in there. I have learned that our lives are precious and that all is impermanent and changing...always. This earth is already a cool place to be if you want it to be. It is my understanding now, that peace is found with-in. I have had this way pointed out to me over and over again through music as well as friends, family, and many spiritual traditions and beautiful cultures that exist on our Mother Earth. My music (especially on this particular album) is only just an expression of staying in the Present Moment , and living deeply in the here and now. I am happy to report that I no longer know of any other real way to live. I feel the need right now to thank my wife, Rebecca, for being part of this journey with me, as well as making music with me, sharing support and much happiness. Also a need to thank my Family and blood relatives and ancestors as well as my spiritual ancestors. Thank you to all my teachers, musical and not so musical, spiritual and not so spiritual. I hope you enjoy this music and your life as well.May we ALL be happy and free...David Neil Kinkead
