Johanne Borum is a singer/songwriter and guitar player. Her music is influenced by folk and contemporary Christian styling, and her second album"Rejoice!" covers these genres as well as ballads, country music, and even a lullaby. A person of deep faith, Johanne's lyrics reflect her beliefs and her experiences as a Christian. In its own way every song either encourages, comforts, or motivates a Christian in their relationship with Jesus.The album was recorded and produced by her son Jeremy Borum, a film composer, orchestrator, and producer in Los Angeles. Johanne's first album"Sweet Perfume" was released by Bryco Sound.Johanne has been a guest singer at many churches in the South Bay area of Southern California. She has led worship for women’s retreats and has been a keynote speaker for various women’s functions. Worship music has also been an integral part of the high school and women’s Bible studies that Johanne has led over the years. Born and raised in Grand-Mère, Québec (French Canada) until she was nine years old, Johanne was surrounded by music from early childhood. In the seventh grade, three years after moving to California, she began playing the guitar. She and her sister, Lynne, spent countless hours arranging and singing popular songs for friends and family. It was at this time that she also began writing original songs. Johanne came to know Christ as her Lord and Savior during her junior year of high school. Since then, the majority of her original songs have stemmed from her experiences and observations as a Christian.
