On April 2, 1978, my son James was due to enter this world. Instead, a truck pulled up and unloaded one thousand vinyl records of my first recording,"Billy B Sings About Trees". James arrived two days later. So now, 23 years later, on my eighth collection of original songs, James has co-written and orchestrated most of these songs. He also mixed multiple tracks of music, many of which he performed, and he mastered the final collection. Creating together has been a very rewarding and easy going experience. When Project Learning Tree ( PLT ) approached me to work on integrating music and dance into their energy education initiative, this presented a great opportunity to collaborate with James and PLT on a very worthwhile and creative endeavor; educating kids about the role energy plays in all our lives. For years I have performed at PLT gatherings, and have developed many friendships and partnerships in educating kids about the environment. I want to thank PLT and it's network of educators worldwide who work hard everyday in helping students learn about our environment.I want to thank Wendy Weidemann, Wade Matthews, and Paul Seydewitz for their valuable musical contributions. And finally, I want to thank the thousand of teachers and kids who have shared live performances with me and helped me develop a style that both educates and entertains.
