"Love You" - first a song, and now a CD. I wrote the song, with lyrical help from Joe Zynczak for our two little boys, Jay and Aaron back in the late 1960s. It was a sunshine, upbeat time in the world of pop music. My brothers and sister and I were singing in a group called The Free Design and"Love You" was just in time to be included in our fourth album - a children's album called"Free Design Sing for Very Important People".Fast forward to the year 2003 when a Seattle record company called Light in the Attic began to reissue all 7 of the Free Design albums, which were brought to their attention by a groundswell of new interest in the group in far-flung places like Japan and Spain. (Japan's Ultra-Vybe followed suit with a complete reissue as well in 2011.)The song"Love You" began to come to life with its own musical history in 2006. First it was used in a movie -"Stranger Than Fiction". Then it musically underlined an array of popular, even award-winning commercials in Australia, Europe and the US for companies like Toyota and Peter's Drumstick ice cream.Jay and Aaron grew up, married, and now have children of their own, much to my total delight! You will meet them in this CD.All the songs, old and new, were written or chosen to be under the umbrella of"Love You". They are songs for children, but not only for children - they are really for anyone who has or yearns for those wonderful, shared feelings of love for family and friends, pets and nature. What could be more important?"I love you!" is the very first thing we desperately try to communicate to our loved ones in any crisis. We could easily say"Love you!" every day. Or sing it on a family road trip.
