MOON AND SHADOWS has been nominated in two categories for a ZMR Music Award. The categories are 'Best New Artist' and 'Best Electronic Album'. The results will be made known in May, 2016.Born in Meriden, in the heart of England, Barbara now lives in the Cambrian Mountains in Wales. Her great grandmother was Welsh speaking and she also has some Irish forbears so that's where the occasional Celtic flavour comes from. Landscape and the natural world in general are very important to her and influence much of her work. Barbara’s style uses a fusion of classical, folk and contemporary influences. In Moon and Shadows you will hear echoes of electronica, world, ambient, and folk genres, even the occasional pop or dance strand lacing the sound. Lots of her pieces are tone poems or descriptions of real places and experiences. Barbara’s aim is to paint sound pictures which can capture a sense of place and take the listener on all sorts of journeys.
