Desert Child was record at Db Recordings in Bled, Slovenia, between July and August of 2009. Next to the sound engineer and producer Dali Sternisa, David Tordera and Diana Alieva (Nivaira) performed the ten songs which are included in the album. Those songs came out of true inspiration, not out of calculation in order to achieve a bigger success. Drums were computer programmed, bass and guitars were all performed by David, and vocals were again performed by David and Diana. Diana's vocal register is not so common, being a coloratura soprano. Some parts on this record show her possibilities in the high register pretty much.Once in the studio, the musicians themselves and the producer were really surprised of the great sound and the high quality of the music. The record's title and the inspiration for several lyrics on this album come from the world of horses, of which Diana is a huge fan, owning a mare herself. In fact, this work somehow reflects the wisdom acquired from the understanding of horses.Desert Child is a multilingual work. Using the fact that David and Diana come from different nationalities (Spain and Russia), but themselves belonging to ethnic minorities (Catalan and Tatar), they could sing in the tongues that fitted each song best.
