by Steven McDonaldFrontman and key songwriter Alan Hull is gone, replaced by Billy Mitchell, leaving Rod Clements and Ray Laidlaw from the original group. The resulting album strikes out for a few different stylistic corners, including a strong hint of country, but it never rises up enough to really make any sort of solid impression -- all of the songs have a journeyman air about them, and a tone that avoids annoyance while failing to catch the attention. Overall, the album sounds fine, but it's really as ephemeral as fairy frost.
