Gary on Drums, Dustin on Bass, Jon on the Guitar, Keys and Vocals. We made this album in the winter. It was so cold there were ice patches on the concrete floor in the middle of the garage. We had one kerosene heater that made us smell aweful and slightly dizzy. It would billow out clouds of black smoke when we turned it on. The Garage was two cars wide, had a cathedral ceiling and was mostly empty. What an echo. I don't know if it really came across in the album. This was the first time I, Jon, recorded live drums and an entire band. I was very excited, cold, and inexperienced. I did my best setting up our 8 channels of audio. 5 mics for the drums, one channel each for Bass, Guitar and Vocals. Gary and Dustin were fresh out of there last band the Townies. A Hard Rocking Jam Band that had made some local waves. We only had 4 or 5 days of recording because I was living about 5 hours away at the time. When it was done we intended to give it away, not sell it. We used the album as a way to get fans and gigs."Hi, nice to meet you, this is what we sound like, would you like to book us". We ended up giving away over 1000 copies over 2 years at our gigs in bars, restaurants and festivals. Now, its 2015, and I have remastered Inner Mission. I achieved this by adding compression, reverb, and EQ to each of the separate tracks we originaly recorded. I hope you enjoy this music. We truly had a blast recording it.
