In spring, 2008, Vintage Guitar Magazine reviewed this album noting,"Loe and the Nastys deal in music that isn't popular with young folks anymore; equal parts jazz, Jobim-influenced Latin music, and even a little Dan Hicks and His Hot Licks, this quartet has a smokey sound that evokes a feeling as cool as the other side of the bed." That same year, the internationally renowned Dakota Jazz Club described Loe & the Nastys as a young group that"plays pop and soul that’s sweet, smart, and a whole lot of fun."Loe & the Nastys is a fresh new voice in the Twin Cities. Their original music fuses the improvisation of jazz, the structure of popular music, and an acute sense of group interplay. They draw their influence from artists such as Antonio Carlos Jobim, Jill Scott, and Erykah Badu. The group performs around the Twin Cities at Cafe Maude, Rossi's Blue Star room, and the nationally and internationally renowned Dakota Jazz Club. In April, their tunes were featured on youtube.com. Three months later, their music was highlighted in Yahoo! News as soundtracks for visual artist Phil Hansen. In January 2008, Loe & the Nastys produced this full length CD and was named Editor's Pick on CD Baby.com. Currently, the group is performing monthly and creating a second album.
