For this recording, Evan Mazunik crafted instrumental arrangements of traditional hymns drawn from centuries of church music repertoire, including songs such as “Guide Me, O Thou Great Jehovah,” “Holy, Holy, Holy,” and “When I Survey the Wondrous Cross.” During months of services at Cherry Creek Presbyterian in the Denver metro area, he and his trio honed these arrangements for preludes and postludes before heading into the studio in late November of 2015.“One of my earliest musical memories is of standing on a pew at church next to my father as we sang, watching as he would follow along in the hymnal, tracing the page with his fingers," said Evan."Some of these classic hymns eventually worked their way into my bones and became source material for these original arrangements on my new album."Musicians include Mike Fitzmaurice (bass), Bobby Ferguson (drums), and Evan Mazunik (piano).
