"I Am Hip Hop"George"Saint Vybz" Chapman is an up-and-coming Hip Hop artist from Waterloo, On. People with a life story like his usually end up one of three ways: Dead, Dead Inside, or Stronger for It. George came through the fires of homelessness and demons of drug abuse and is stronger for it. Unlike a lot of his contemporaries that use their history as either fuel for 'bragging rights' or some sort of warped Badge of Honour, Saint Vybz draws on his life experiences as fuel for his art. He won't tell you he's tougher then you, or spit pointless threats against imaginary foes, but he'll tell you what he's been through, how it's made him stronger, and how much it's given him a clear vision of what he wants as a future for him and his family. He also will quickly let you know what he thinks of those who pose or people who treat hip hop like a meal ticket instead of an art form. And he wields his words without apology. That's the"why", and here's the"how": This young man has spent a lot more time honing and sharpening his skills than a lot of people that I hear scrambling their way up the pile of steaming crap known as Top 40. His hip hop roots go deep. He understands that 'Old School' is more than a marketing term, and fights to bring back Real Rap to where it belongs - as a true art form, and not as a vehicle for selling records, clothing, and trinkets.Throwing aside gimmicks and tossing aside"Ringtone Rap", Saint Vybz strives to use his words and music as both a warning and an inspiration.
