There is an almost IDM like quality to the compilation as a whole, but the album also has the whim and sense of uncertainty that raises it well above cliq-hop IDM.As on his previous releases, Trestal’s skillful snug, palatable beats show a great love for hip-hop, r&b and electronica. Great care has been taken to give fans of electronic chill out, a truly wonderful listening experience.History of the Atom shows Trestal knows how to merge melodic dream like phrases with clicks, pops and fat bass. The listener gets an ear full of impressive music production and imaginative technique. It’s accelerated chill in some instances, for want of a better definition.
