Stereo Sons is an"indie rock power trio" formed in the winter of 2008 by two musicians who wanted to write and play a new kind of rock music. Singer / guitarist Chris Klepac had played in post-hardcore, punk, and alt-country bands, while drummer Mike O'Doherty had a background in jazz, funk and R&B. Together with bassist Marty Lund they created a style indebted to trailblazers like Fugazi, XTC, Gang of Four and P.I.L., and threw all their energy into performing intense, exciting live shows. In early 2010, the band met up with veteran producer Conrad Uno at his legendary Egg Studios to record the tracks that would become Our Own Devices. The album was recorded in three days and mastered by Floyd Reitsma at RFI. The band is currently bringing its sound to cities and towns across the West Coast and beyond.
