The Crossing Crew is an American folk band from Texas. The band blends americana and folk rock with fiddle, mandolin, banjo, brass, clarinet, and accordion. Vocals range from the intensity of Mumford and Sons to joyful harmonies inspired by so many hope filled bands going back to the Beach Boys.Pearls From Everland is an original, upbeat album with powerful melodies and lyrics, The Crossing Crew delivers an authentic American sound with songs of upbeat reflection and faultless hope. James Paul, the artist, drew on years of skillful songwriting to perform, record, and produce Pearls From Everland.“The Ocean” is a classic meaning of life song with an inspired arrangement. “A Big Song For Little People” looks back at the best years of growing up. “My Best Friend” will make you want to move your feet with that special someone.Throughout the project you can hear The Crossing Crew sound evolving from simple to more complex arrangements. Lyrics include cleaver metaphors and faith references. Although this is a solid first project. it could have benefited from better microphone and recording expertise. “Fire Down Below” gets some spark from Nashville's own Brad Prakope for expert help with the mix. Special thanks to Jeff in Wisconsin north country for introducing me to Earl Scruggs all those years ago. By the way, This album is best appreciated with headphones or earbuds - Zac
