Shigeo Furukawa is originally from Japan.He began playing a guitar at age 13. When he was a university student, he watched the movies「Sweet and Lowdown」The movies inspired him to learn Jazz. He leaned Jazz guitar from Takayuki Ishii who is a Jazz guitarist (Modern- Conya). Meanwhile He learned Chet Atkins style by himself as well. After he graduated the university, he went to NY to study music. At the beginning, he met Howard Alden (Gt) who played a guitar for 「Sweet and Lowdown」. When Shigeo talked with him, he thought that the life was beautiful. While he was in NY, he went to Jazz bars as many as possible to see many musician. Then Shigeo met Michele Ramo who is master of finger style Jazz guitar. Shigeo had learned Jazz guitar from him for one year. While he was in NY, also he saw Tommy Emmanuel's show at BB King Blues club. It gave him a lot of surprise and excitement. After he went to back Japan, he had played at Cafe(prove life) every week regularly for two years. Also he played many places such as live house, cafe, restaurant, street etc. After spending two years in Japan, he decided to take another Journey. Now He is living in Melbourne Australia and play music. He is Influenced by many guitarists such as Michele Ramo, Tommy Emmanuel,Chet Atkins, Django Reinhardt, Howard Alden, Martin Taylar, , Frank Vignola, Joe pass, John Butler,Takayuki Ishii, Yosuke Onuma, Masayoshi Yamazaki.１３歳からギターを始める。大学生の頃に観た映画「ギター弾きの恋」の音楽に感銘を受け、イシイタカユキ氏（モダーン今夜）にジャズギターを習い始める。ジャズを習うかたわら、チェットアトキンスのコピーをしながら、フィンガースタイルギターを独学で学ぶ。大学を卒業後、ニューヨークへ単身渡米。滞在してすぐに、映画「ギター弾きの恋」でギターを弾いていたHoward Alden氏に会い、人生はなんて素敵なんだと感動をする。なるべく沢山の音楽に触れるため、時間の許す限りジャズバーへ足を運ぶ。そこでジャズフィンガースタイルギターリストのMichele Ramo氏に出会い、彼のもとでジャズフィンガースタイルギターを学び始める。また、ニューヨークに滞在中、BB King Blues Clubにて初めてTommy Emmanuelのライブを観、またとない驚きと感動と興奮を味わい、改めてアコースティックギターの魅力を確認する。NYでの音楽修行を終え、日本へ帰国後すぐに行った路上ライブで、Cafe&Bar prove Life (現在　Beach Cafe prove Life)のオーナーと運命的な出逢いをし、それから二年間、prove Lifeにて、毎週木曜日にレギュラー演奏を行う。それと同時に、ライブハウス、レストラン、プラネタリウム、路上と様々なところで演奏を行う。二年間の活動で得た、様々な素敵な出会いと感動を胸に 、新たな気持ちで音楽に向かい合うべく、Tommy Emmanuelの母国　オーストラリア へ留学を決意する。渡豪後すぐに、Sydney で行われたDaring Harbour Blues & Jazz Festival のOpen Micへ参加。そこでBest Performer に選ばれ、メインステージで演奏をする。人生はなんて素敵なんだと再確認をする。現在、メルボルン在住。レストラン、バー、結婚式、路上と様々な場所で演奏活動をしている。
