Goodnight Tiger are an indie-pop band from Perth. Originating as a female duo, Jill Chrisp and Perrin Date starting playing music together in 2009 when they figured the songs in their heads would be better off performed with the aid of each other than forgotten. Since their humble beginnings, their infectious yet mature and dark folk-pop style has earned them recognition from the West Australian music scene; they were nominated by professionals in the 2010 West Australian Music Industry awards (WAMIs) as Best Newcomer, received a nomination in the 2010 WAMI Song Of The Year Competition for the track 'Tight Arse Tuesday' and received first place in Ampfest 2010. Since the addition of bass player Bex Chilcott and drummer Mat Marsh to complete the quartet, Goodnight Tiger won the opportunity to play at Southbound Festival 2011, and have been nominated as Best Indie-Pop Act in the 2011 WAMIs. The Tigers have had the pleasure of supporting national acts such as Whitley and Katie Noonan and the Captains, as well as international twee-pop kids Belle and Sebastian. Additionally, iconic American songwriter and Rolling Stone Magazine's 'Guitar God' nominee Kaki King features as a guest musician on Goodnight Tiger's debut EP 'Not Getting Married', due for release in August 2011. Jump Down is their first single release.
