3rd World Leader is a 4 piece progressive rock/metal act out of Cleveland, Ohio USA. The group consists of Matt Shelton (guitar & vocals), Kevin Farley (bass & vocals), Matt Lucy (guitar) & Dennis Malkamaki (drums). All 4 members hail from former successful groups such as Odious Sanction, Pale Creation, A Few Askew, & Drawing Fire. Formed in early 2013, 3WL's music incorporates technical riffing, bizarre timings, and crushing bass/drum grooves behind an assault of powerful, thought provoking, and harmonic lyrics. Experience, professionalism, and their intense live show has allowed for a rapid ascent on the local level for this relatively new act.3rd World Leader's debut album Picture Imperfect was released in mid 2015 and was recorded and engineered by guitarist Matt Lucy at his aptly named 3rd World Studios. While some bands simply cannot live up to their studio sound in a live setting, 3WL does not fall into that category and faithfully reproduces the studio polish while still exuding a raw energy on stage. 3WL is currently working on a follow up EP to Picture Imperfect while playing shows in support of their recent release.
