The making of"The Journey Home" was also a journey for myself, and a very healing one at that. I like to think that this album, with its wide range of subjects, will appeal to almost everyone in one way or another. Many instruments were used in the making of these songs, ranging from classical to Oriental to modern,"synth" sounds. The journey itself is always what we make of it.My music is meant to be uplifting and inspirational, and I try to evoke images with it; not just still images, but scenery that tells a story as the music progresses. I have always held Sergei Rachmaninoff's definition of music close to my heart:"What is Music? How do you define it? Music is a calm moonlit night, the rustle of leaves in Summer. Music is the far off peal of bells at dusk! Music comes straight from the heart and talks only to the heart."
