This album was the fruit of years of procrastination. Camille Collins Lovell, has played violin/fiddle on other people's music all her life but only recently got around to writing and recording this collection of her own songs in Tegucigalpa, Honduras, with the help of a large group of generous Honduran musician friends and collaborators. Out of this effort grew the band, Simón! - whose members are Aaron Escoto (drums), Alfonso Ramos (bass) and Cesar Duron (guitar, keyboards, sax and the kitchen sink). Camille sings, fiddles and plays baritone ukulele.Written, performed and recorded (in El Tono Studio with Alex Palencia and Oscar Pacheco) in the 2 years after the coup d'etat (2009) in Honduras, this music was made in the context of a remarkable musical and artistic flowering that accompanied the resistance movement, see especially musicians like: Cafe Guancasco, Fernando Rey, Karla Lara, and Siddhartha, among others.The songs are existential but silly, eccentric but simple. and were mixed and mastered at The Ranch in NY (by Matt Agoglia),
