NEW! Go to StaticInVerona.com to download the FREE E.P., Life-Sized Replica, containing 4 brand new songs.Static In Verona is singer-songwriter Rob Merz. The debut album, Be Quiet As You Leave, is filled with a collection of catchy songs mostly detailing the troubled romances of various friends and acquaintances. Piecing together elements of indie pop and aspects of electric folk, the songs are upbeat and poppy, yet haunting and elegant. Pressing acoustic against electric, they set the stage for a theme of heartbreak and redemption that runs throughout the album."Caught my ear right off the bat. Pop music with a nice little twist." - WXRT radio host Richard Milne (2/15/09 Local Anesthetic featured song)"Static in Verona leans more to the indie pop side of things, but is more melodic and accessible than a lot of what passes for indie pop these days." - AbsolutePowerPop.com (1/7/09 Album of the Day)Rob is also the guitarist and chief-songwriter of Chicago's Ash Avenue. The debut is digital download only and, besides CD Baby, is available at several other online stores.
