He attempted to quit his job and collaborate with friends on a music project, but due to practical reasons, this didn't continue, and he eventually returned to his hometown of Shunde. His passion for music didn't wane. Realizing his love and potential in music creation, Tray Sean began learning music production on his own while working, gradually finding his own voice.During this process, Tray Sean contacted CHONSUP. The two quickly reached a consensus on musical and visual aesthetics, as well as creative concepts, and subsequently began collaborating. From music production to visual presentation, most of the work was done by the two of them, thus forming a crew—OnThe.Wav.The creative process wasn't smooth sailing. Life pressures, distance, and mental states all contributed to making the process slow and iterative. But through continuous learning, practice, collaboration, and perseverance, the two eventually completed some works that they were relatively satisfied with.OnThe.Wav's work emphasizes atmosphere and the overall aesthetic experience of the audiovisual experience. While primarily using Cantonese in its creative language, it's not limited to Cantonese expression. Retaining a strong local Guangdong flavor, it also attempts to incorporate new sonic textures and vibe.The EP's name is the same as the crew's—OnThe.Wav."Wav" is a homophone for"Way," representing both the audio format and symbolizing waves and roads, signifying continuous progress on the waves and roads, without end.This EP has a limited number of tracks, and due to its self-taught approach, the production isn't the most polished, even somewhat rough. However, it authentically records this stage of their journey and strives for completeness and sincerity in its audiovisual aesthetics and overall cohesion.
