In 2008, he was named to the Save the Music Foundation’s honor roll for his support of music education. Recognized for his storytelling and insightful lyrics, he plays to live audiences throughout the country and often incorporates his music and poetry into presentations, workshops and leadership retreats.Edgar rekindled his love for singing, songwriting and playing guitar in 2001. He soon began collaborating with the talented guitarist Rick Pruitt, leading to the formation of the Cannon Brothers, a blues band for which he wrote songs, sang and played guitar. In 2005, the band received Yellow Magazine’s “Best of the West” Award, as well as Broomfield County’s Gold Best Artist Award. In 2006, Edgar left the band and in 2007 released his first album of original songs, Let Time Run. The album features Taylor Mesple of Wind Machine fame and Nick Forester, the host of the radio program etown and a member of the Grammy nominated band Hot Rize.In 2009, during the recording of his second album, Edgar was involved in an accident that left his right arm paralyzed. In 2010, the preliminary tracks recorded prior to his injury were released as an album. Titled Private Property, the collection is an all acoustic set of introspective offerings. A year later, at the first hint of recovery, Edgar began a rehabilitation process centered on relearning to play the guitar. Within months, he and Craig Corona began work on his third CD, the recently released St. Helena. The collection of bluegrass/folk offerings features several of Colorado’s premier bluegrass players including K.C. Groves, Chris Ramey, and Enion Pelta-Tiller.Currently, Edgar is working on his fourth album and continues playing live in support of the Second Wind Fund.
