I recorded my Strong Enough EP nearly two years ago. I had recently come out to my Catholic family. It felt incredible to finally be honest with everyone I love, and I wanted to make a record to empower others to feel the same.Now same-sex marriage is the law of the land, but it still takes a lot of strength to rise above the intolerance in many parts of the country, and even within many families. I picked this cover photo to answer the zealots who call us all sinners and social deviants. This is a classy couple of friends who've loved each other for decades, are successful small business owners, and respected members of their community. If the religious right realized that they actually DO know and respect gay people in their own communities - in their own families - same-sex marriage would be a non-issue. So, gay or straight, please share. I won't take any profit from this recording (if it ever makes money it'll go to Howard Brown Health Center). I just want more people to know that they can be themselves, not just for their own benefit, but for everyone's. Just own it in your own way. You've got a lot of support, you're strong enough, and we've still got work to do.
