Minneapolis singer-songwriter/folk musician Delphia Blize has released her debut album West River, produced by Evan Brubaker (Holly O'Reilly, Brianna Lane) and Darren Jackson (Brenda Weiler, The Hopefuls). West River features contributions from several notable musicians, including Jonathan Kingham (Shawn Colvin, David Wilcox), John Munson (Semisonic, Trip Shakespeare), Jacqueline Ultan (Jelloslave) and Darren Jackson (Kid Dakota).Raised in Boston, MA and in a small town in Vermont, Delphia took the name for her first album from the West River of VT, where she spent much of her childhood. After attending college in Minnesota, she put down roots in Minneapolis. Delphia credits her musical stylings to heroes Nanci Griffith, Lucinda Williams, Gillian Welch and Alison Krauss as well as contemporaries such as Josh Ritter and fellow Minneapolis musicians Mason Jennings and Brenda Weiler.
