"This very pretty young Texas import is tall, blonde, and full of rare talent.""...Anna Lively does have what it takes. She's vital, she's intelligent with a penchant for comedy and a great soprano belt."Her ballads"...were given genuinely warm readings, and were sung with an understanding that belied her years.""...A true flair for comic timing.""Lively's innovative treatment of a lyric places her in the front-runner category..." -John Hoglund, New York Native"Thoroughly entertaining...[with] a beautiful voice and a personality brimming with humor...." -Les Traub, Cabaret HotlineCOVER NOTE:It IS a little bit funny that so many songs from the golden age of music are, indeed, funny. The keen wit and literary artistry of the lyricists of that era are amazing. I love to do comic songs in my live shows, and people asked to hear more of my"lively" sense of humor in this CD. It was tough to pick just a few songs from all the great choices out there, but it was important to me to choose songs that still had a good jazzy"groove". I hope these songs give you a giggle and are as much fun to listen to as they were to sing.-A.L.
