Bruce & the Roos are a Dutch Folk(pop) band from Tilburg with a special and rare line-up. Bruce's guitar and vocals are common as anything but not so the blend of Chapmanstick, accordina, wavedrum, percussion and cajon that determine the band's sound. They combine their musical exuberance with poetic lyrics, sometimes sharply observant, sometimes more contemplative. The unique charactre of Bruce & the Roos is completed by sudden breaks, cross-over elements and lots of fun.Bruce & the Roos are stayers who continue to do what they like and what they are good at, even if that is not what is reflected in modern pop music. Pop music history can be heard in their deliberately untrendy songs....Since 2007 Bruce & the Roos have been Carel Burghout (vocals and guitars), Rob Rieter (Chapmanstick and vocals), Roel Visser (accordion and accordina) and Ro-Nalt Schrauwen (Cajon, percussion, various string instruments).
