Michael Neff often plays the trumpet softly and with fragility but, sometimes he is vibrantly and rhythmically loaded. Together with the singer and fluteplayer Marie Malou he composes pieces which vary between jazz, experimental and songwriting. These tunes are ideal for an expressive banter between voice, trumpet and the instruments of the cool rhythm section. In this way calm ballads and groovy compositions leave space for hidden stories.
