The Back Porch Boogie Band has been playing and recording music together for over 30 years." Above Ground" is an effort to show just how grateful we are, after so much history, to still be around doing what we love, breathing. By extension, of that, this band of brothers is grateful to still be able to be together recording our original music. This music would have to be labeled"Southern Rock", if you had to pick just one" fits all" genre, however, you will hear leanings into country, as well as, country rock. There is also a Blues influence that, like Cajun spices, makes it all the more interesting. The one underlying current, though, is that it is all southern. Southern boys, southern music. What would you expect, we are from Louisiana. The five distinctive lead vocalists, with lots of harmony lines, will keep the collection fresh as you move through this experience. You will enjoy biting guitar leads, by"Lightning Rod Nichols, in the vein of The Marshall Tucker Band, as well as, sultry sax rides by our buddy, the effervescent, Tommy Yates of Aces Band fame. You'll especially enjoy the dynamic lead vocal on,"Lucky Man", sang by an original BPBB alumni , Kerry Hunter."Above Ground" has been a great experience for us, our 3rd album. We know it will be good for you too. We are already in the studio working on our next release. Visit us on the Porch. As always thanks for giving us a listen. P&L, BPBB
