"Wendy Webb's music is moody, full of wee hours wisdom, it is yearning and soul stirring, soaring toward heights flown by the likes of Joni Mitchell and Emmy Lou Harris. Webb is a newcomer whose music is mined in the timeless chambers of the human heart." - Steven Dougherty, Senior Writer, People Magazine www.wendywebbmusic.comEDGE OF TOWN Elegant songwriting and performances! Webb's beautiful and haunting voice will take you on a personal journey from the edge of small town America to distant urban skylines. Accompanying herself on acoustic piano and guitar she creates a style all her own drawn from the roots of folk, pop, jazz and blues. Selected songs are beautifully enhanced with moments of sax, strings, bass and drums. The recording was made on location in a seaside cabin atop an Indian mound somewhere on Florida's gulf coast. BIOSinger-songwriter Wendy Webb has been described as an “Undiscovered American treasure” (Tim Cahill, Outside Magazine). Her music is “Tough, fragile and enduring” (Steven Dougherty, senior writer, People magazine), and her voice is “achingly beautiful” according to Jeff Klinkenberg, columnist, St. Pete Times.Wendy Webb has performed in Cuba, Paris and New York. Frequently compared to artists such as Laura Nyro, Joni Mitchell and Norah Jones, Webb effortlessly weaves poetic lyrics and elements of folk, jazz, and blues into a classic style all her own. Ms Webb has received honors in both the John Lennon Songwriting Contest and in the Lilith Fair Songwriting Competition. Lyrics to three of her compositions appear in the novel"Dark Light" by New York Times best selling author Randy Wayne White. Wendy Webb was honored to perform at the 9th annual September Concert Series Gala in New York City.
