MAKS is a rock band from the Netherlands formed around multi-instrumentalist and songwriter Maks A.In 2013 Maks A. spent four weeks in the USA, as a the stand-in drummer with the dutch rock band JVT Band. They toured from the Upper Peninsula to Memphis.Musically, this trip opened his eyes and he decided to give it a shot and publish his own material.Maks A. was heavily influenced by 1980’s new wave bands such as Magazine, Echo and the Bunnymen, Ultravox and Gary Numan. He describes his musical style being a mix of the music of this period and the music he came to appreciate in a later stage of life: blues- and country-rock. To be precise, artists such as John Mellencamp, the Black Crowes and -very recently- the Black Keys bear Maks’ Seal Of Approval :)
