Conceptually, Discordia Concors revolves as much around the notion of Chaos as much as it does the idea of Hope. Indeed, these two concepts are fundamentally aligned and presented to the listener through the allegory of the narrator's journey from death to rebirth. Societal mechanism is instrumental in the death of the narrator, as it is instrumental in the subjugation and murder of the human spirit and individual freedom. Incarnae represents the eventual deaths that each of us must experience before the evolution of ourselves can be possible. Only there does the journey to which true freedom can begin. What follows is a shedding of personal fetter, as all the things that shackled the narrator to his reality are cast aside. This growth must be painful for it to be valued, as all growth must be. The ethical pillars that define an individual's place in contrived civilization must be demolished, burned to the ground, and their passing celebrated in the afterglow of exquisite, painful catharsis before the narrator can define his own free existence. Within the discord there lay hope. Through the recognition and embrace of that infinite possibility of what might be, which lay beyond the borders of what has been defined for us, there lay true identity, subjective meaning, and real value. It is only in the acceptance of this fundamental principle, that we truly become human. Discordia Concors is the painful road to the true actualization of the human being. It is the violent rejection of all communal value, the exploration of the vastness of possibility, and the willing definition of self, in spite of those definitions foisted upon us by the standardized machine of civilization that has polluted and manipulated each and every one of us to some degree.credits:released 03 March 2015Andrew Menefee - VocalsNick Campbell - GuitarKeenan Binkley - GuitarDaniel Combs - BassEngineered, Produced, Mixed and Mastered by Nick Campbell and Daniel CombsAll Drums By Nick Campbell, Daniel CombsAll Lyrics and Vocals by Andrew Menefee
