The trend in pop music today is that"Hispanic" music is"in." But too often what passes as"in" is mere pop music--in Spanish. Ricky Martin, Shakira, and Paulina Rubio are typical of this bland trend. But Frankie Negron is the real deal. His brand of Salsa is alive and pure. The sound is both original and classic, but never dowdy or boring. Frankie Negron is not a"back to the roots" type artist; he honors the pure Salsa sound by doing it right. This album will appeal both to purists and teenagers alike. Frankie is the real deal. Ricky Martin is to Frankie Negron what the Monkees were to the Beatles.
