"Mechanical Memories" is a gapless instrumental concept album, and one of Kevin Matela's latest projects. Seamlessly alternating between hard rock and easy listening, the music is based strongly on the experimental advancements that technology has faced us with. Such as saving and/or extracting memories, mechanical control, cloning human brains, artificial intelligence, and whether or not it can be helpful, or harmful for future generations. The album itself is rhythm heavy, spacious, and relaxing. All instrumentation, tracking, & mixing is done by Matela himself. Guest musicians also perform on selected tracks. Mechanical Memories is a fresh start for Matela, since he has previously been involved in many Heavy Metal/Progressive Rock projects. This time he has managed to take the approach of"less is more" without compromising the music's integrity.
