Calamity James tends to create acoustic natured rock music that is centered around harmonies and melodies. They infuse different types of rhythm into the music, creating a"wall of rhythm" at times. Calamity James enjoys utilizing a variety of instruments to make a song special, such as horns, melodica, bells, etc... Most of the songs were composed towards the end of 2012, with several written earlier that year or the year prior. They were recorded with love at the beginning of 2013.
