The Trio Orphée is the band of Markus Kohlprath (Vienna) one of germanys premier guitar players/composers combining jazz with fingerstyle and classical technique. The Trio plays mainly compositions by Markus. The vision for the music crystallizied out of a long experience with different genres like jazz/bebop , classical and fingerstyle guitar playing as well as study of classical composition. Markus always tries to make music- compositions and improvisations- that is coming from inner inspiration and the heart of the players. its purpose is to reach the heart of the listener and take him on a journey finding inspiration, love and energy. So sometimes it might be just a simple melody, sometimes more complex structures evolve- the music takes it´s way.For Markus there are no boundaries of genres or styles as long as the elements of the music make sense esthetically. Obviously the true multicultural environment of Vienna, where Markus grew up, which has a tradition for centuries was a strong influence for his artistic development . Maybe some people will be reminded of the Pat Metheny Band or Oregon which are well known influences .Young bass Player Friedrich Betz and drummer Dominik Raab well known musicians in germany support the music with a strong sense for the subtle moods and colours of the tunes.
