In the summer of 2010, Joshua Mash was a solo musician playing gigs throughout New York City under the name Shilo Andrews. Previously touting an acoustic hip-hop vibe, Mash set out to revamp his sound. After being invited to jam in a studio with a friend's band Josh set out to change his sound. Switching his main instrument from guitar to keyboard, he sold the guitar that gave him his first New York musical moments to pay for the Roland Gaia keyboard that would stylize his new sound. Six months later, after encouraging feedback from family and friends, Josh had a 4-song demo.Silas Fermoy’s sound became more abstract and full adding live drums, a double keyboard, and multiple bass effects. Josh’s songwriting skirts the line between fiction and autobiography, weaving narratives together and creating a story that expands from one song to the next.Drawing on diverse influences such as Papa, The Mary Onettes, Arcade Fire, Beach House, The National, and Little Dragon, Silas Fermoy ventured into The End Studios to create what would become his highly anticipated release, Chapters. A year later and teaming up with producer Jason Cummings, Silas Fermoy is set to release the follow up: Clouds That Dropped You.
