专辑《Outta the Basement (Explicit)》 简介
This is the second EP recorded by SoundOff, one of the few original, dedicated, and unique punk bands found in our nation's glorious Ocean State: Rhode Island. A couple of these songs have been on previous EPs such as"Flippin the Bird" and their only live album thus far"Damn, We Actually Sound Legit: Live at the AS220", though after a couple of years of finally honing their chops they sound better than ever. While recording this EP, SoundOff had in mind the chance to show their fans, peers, and audience members that no band should just stick to one style of music. In the footsteps of albums such as The Clash's"London Calling" and Sublime's self-titled album, SoundOff chose to write each song carefully and creatively, making sure that no two songs sounded similar and also showed what other styles of music they take interest in. Examples of their love for ska music can be heard in tracks such as"Slave To The Grind" and"401 Pride" while songs such as"Why So Serious" and"Ultraviolence" call out to their roots in classic raw punk music. Their lyrical themes also differ from most, choosing to write about the decline of the new generation of music, dead-end jobs, and even fictional characters like The Joker; all out-of-place compared to other RI bands and their songs about love and girls. Simply put, this EP follows SoundOff's motto: Real Punk for Real People.
