From the seed of a Gershwinesque / Rufus Wainwright type cabaret romp"I Wish That I Were Gay" on the band's 2008 CD (Chubbed Up), The Bigfellas have grown the song into a full fledged juggernaut with styles across the board. Sure, this EP offers album version and radio edit of the original song, but the real stars here are the two dance remixes of the song: The Tinseltown version featuring Paul Lynde and a host of uncloseted celebrities in the mix (and also a Santanaesque latin ending) and the Larry Craig Dance Mix which allows the former Idaho Senator to tell his story to club dancers, who may or may not have a wide stance.The other goodies here are the Polka version which would make Lawrence Welk and Myron Floren musically proud and lyrically angry (plus a nod to SCTV Schmenge Brothers' promoter Moe Koffler) and finally the Bigfellas mellow slacker anthem"In The Daytime" which was previously only offered on the Bigfellas' website.See what the fuss about the lyrics are all about, you'll probably start dancing in the middle of it. The Bigfellas aren't normally known as dance club fodder, but for about 12 minutes here, they sure are.
