These are all instrumentals with as wide a variety of voices as I can summon up in a given moment: sitars, synths, strings, ambient sounds and, as always, basses, guitars and drums. The pieces attempt to reproduce the experience of hearing 2 or 3 or many more sounds at a time. I'm a bassist in Denver that plays blues and jazz and rock'n'roll in clubs at night and also has a home studio, in which I play all the roles. At the end of a cycle, the dominant art form is a reprise or collage of the preceding styles. I think (with thanks to Barzun, who was so kind as to say, and I paraphrase,"Don't fret about being called decadent; it doesn't mean it's bad").
