Though this band popped onto the scene recently, Lovette and Benz have been writing, recording and touring together for several years. In 2011, they toured the USA several times and released a full length album with the band Paint Me Irrational. Both concentrated on working with other bands in 2012-2015 (Honor Society and The Rocket Summer respectively), but kept writing material separately to create a sound all their own that would eventually become Rebel and Anchor.The debut EP Heart City explores the different aspects of their writing in just four songs. Ranging from the"sing along" anthemic chorus of the title track to the brooding synth laden"Durango" to the smooth falsetto vocals of"Waiting Forever", there is something for every listener.With the follow up KINGDOM EP, Benz and Lovette take the next logical step in the songwriting progression.
