Yuri Boukoff was born in 1926 in Bulgaria. He received his musical education in France from Georges Enescu, Yves Nat, Edwin Fischer and Marguerite Long. After a rapid rise and numerous awards he was soon honorarily nicknamed the"Rubinstein of Bulgaria". At 30, he was the first European concert pianist to tour the People's Republic of China on a concert tour.
