Now it’s the turn of the stunning work A Perfect Dawn that will be released in November 2013 through the label Argonauta Records. A Perfect Dawn is going to be a great strike for the label and it will see the band at its best. Tons of guitars, bass, drums and some piano, build-ups and climaxes are everywhere, but they are often utilized in creative and unexpected ways. By creating surprisingly melodic and epic atmospheres the four guys from North Carolina demonstrate their ability to rock out.A Perfect Dawn opens with a calming and tranquilizing combination of soft guitar and ambiance. This calm is soon upset by the simple yet powerful drumming, which provides the tracks backbone as it gradually crescendos. Soon, the rest of the band joins in and you’ll join them in this heartbreaking vertigo till when each instrument slowly disappear. This is ‘Aurora’, the opening song of the approximately 55 minutes musical journey of (((FOTA))).‘Zenith’ follows the same path of the opening track. The turning point is ‘Eos’ with it’s a bit more of 2 minutes of suspended atmosphere. The tension is released but there’s a lot of energy in it. It’s like opening a door and being suddenly surrounded by a dazzling light. As soon as you’ll pass through that door you’ll be again the instrument explosion that (((FOTA))) is so able to create. You’re going to move in a spider web of sound that brings the name of ‘Halo’, ‘Visible Light’, ‘Legend’ and ‘Split Sky’. At loud volumes it’s enough to get your heart pumping.‘The Absolute’ is your occasion to rest. laying down you’ll realize that quite is coming back again. The scene that (((FOTA))) create here is full of beauty, soft radiance and delicate textures. The mood it tends to elicit comes off as something short of melancholic, possibly cathartic. The lack of drums is more than welcomed.‘The Illusion Of A Moving Sun’ – have you ever tried to follow the movement of the sun?- is the place where the band shows again its potentiality. the different sounds are all built on a pursuing wonderful drum and I find here a sense of beautiful melancholia.‘Faultless’ has the honor to close A Perfect Dawns wall of sounds. This song will please all fans addicted to post-rock, sludge, progressive, and metal. With almost 8 minutes long, this song covers a wide range of music genres. Here the riffs work with each other instead of next to each other and the outcome is amazing. I particularly like the last bunch of second that conclude the record.A Perfect Dawn is not an album everyone will be able to get into, but for those who can it is a record to return to over and over.
