Not Quite Right spent time this winter and spring developing"Simplify the Alibi", during jam sessions at Studio 111 in Poway, California. Tucked away in the foothills of Southern California, the setting and vibe generated some really fun songs. The band has a garage band feel and sound, with influences from the Ramones, Green Day, The Cure, the White Stripes, and Bowie.Unlike previous albums, the band spent time after song development, playing the songs to make sure they came across well live. If for some reason, a song didn't work or feel right, it did not make the album. And, where before, mixing seemed like enough without spending lot's of time mastering, this album was given extra time in mastering to ensure the sound quality was the best it could be.
