Arrivals, the counterpart to Summer Underground's earlier electronic EP Departures, uses organic sounds and acoustic instruments to explore the current counter-reaction to popular electronic music. The album was created using both live instrumental and vocal takes to provide a more performative feel. However, some electronic elements are still woven into this EP, but are re-imagined in the spirit of past American music. A vocoder version of a gospel chorus makes an appearance on the song"Forgetful," while the unadulterated catchiness of"Radio Music" serves as a love-letter to our shrunken attention span's enjoyment of pop music."Lover's Day" and"Memories of Sleep" are beckoned in by synthetic orchestras, but retain the essence of folk songs.
