Three years after her debut EP,"Daily Heroic," Fatty is back on beautiful beats produced by the Dishonorable Judge Combat and mixed by TH3HT."Via Local" is a snapshot of the daily commute from Brooklyn to Upper West Side for work, while Fatty was still living in Brooklyn. On"Make It So" Fatty and Judge Combat clown around with space jokes, but lines like"Fattymac's been Battlestar Galactin'/ passive, out of action, off track, slackin'..." ring true despite the goofiness. In"Sweetie Pi" cleverly works the first 100 decimals of Pi into 4 verses, giving the listener a bit of insight into an obsessive mind. By the end of the track, you barely noticed the oddity of the numbers in the verse because it feels normal."Where We Left Off" is a clear follow up to"Daily Heroic," both in form and function. Fatty tackles losing her brother by first sharing childhood moments:"the house creaked, feeling weak, but the wind raged/ winter was coming, we were younger and felt brave/ running through the underbrush, above us the pine swayed/ nothing up in front of us but wonder and time stayed/ still..." and then takes us into the hospital and the final hours of her brother's life. It is an intense and beautiful track that brings to life the immensity of loss. On"Old Bad Habits," Fatty uses a Game of Thrones analogy to explore unhealthy behaviors that have taken hold."And I'm a take my castle back/ and I'm a take my throne/ and fly... I'll rap or die in the Game of Microphones..." The EP ends with the song called"Accio." For those who don't know, 'Accio' is a summoning spell from Harry Potter, so the hook essentially means that Fatty is summoning nerdy girls everywhere. On your tenth time listening to this song, you will still find lyrics you hadn't ever noticed before, punchlines that you don't know how you missed."Your man ain't killing tracks, he's Avada-Kedaverage/ give the man a mana break..." and"they're embarrassed cuz they're staring into Erised/ where Harry saw his parents in the mirror but in there instead/ I'm in their heads, they're seeing me/ Geeky, weak emcees..." are some prime examples. If you like books and you like poetry and you like hip hop, you really can't go wrong with Fatty.
